As the official public relations arm and welcoming committee of the Chamber, this is one of the most important volunteer opportunities for Chamber members. Ambassadors assist in maintaining open lines of communication between the Chamber, its new and ongoing members, and others in the local business community.
Helping New Businesses
The Ambassador Council through ribbon cutting ceremonies officially welcomes new businesses opening in Sarpy County. New members receive special guidance through the Mentor program, which is a service of the Ambassador Council. This program includes phone calls and personal visits from an Ambassador from time to time.
Working to Improve the Business Community
Ambassadors visit existing member businesses throughout the year to help the Chamber stay focused on the issues that affect Sarpy County’s growth and overall business opportunities. Both the business community and the Chamber itself benefit from this work, as it provides a stronger and healthier Chamber with a wide base of sustaining members and a convenient way for local business owners to voice their opinions, ideas and concerns.
Ambassador Council Member Application
This group assembles business executives from the local area that represents separate and distinct industries. The Dialogue Group meets once a month in a cooperative effort to leverage each other’s knowledge, experience and insights and apply them to challenges and opportunities.
This group works to protect and enhance the pro-business climate in Sarpy County and Nebraska. They conduct legislative forums to provide members with the opportunity to express their views and stay informed of proposed and new legislation that could impact local businesses. This group conducts an all-member survey on government issues as well.
This program gives members the opportunity to practice and improve their communication skills in a friendly and non-threatening environment. Participants receive certification by giving speeches at their own pace and receiving constructive evaluations from members of the group. Participants must be employed by a member business. The Toastmasters group meets every first and third Wednesday of the month at the Chamber from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The Sarpy Chamber TIPS program promotes business growth and development for members by allowing them to build a network of referrals. Participants get together on a weekly basis to share business leads, with each member representing a noncompetitive business. Participation is limited to Sarpy County Chamber members only.
