February 27, 2018, Bellevue, Neb. – Gross Catholic High School hosted one of the Networking Breakfasts for several business professionals who are members of the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Friday, February, 23, 2018.

The Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce works for the leadership and the economic development of Latino businesses, and the professionals who belong to the Latino entrepreneurial community. The networking breakfasts are held the last Friday of every month and are intended to allow NHCC members to connect with other professionals and with community leaders, to share information about their businesses and their events, and to participate in professional development. Friday’s presenters included Dr. Michael Ashton, Superintendent of the Catholic Schools Office, Donna Bishop, Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director of the Consortium Schools, Deacon Gregorio Elizalde, Manager of the Latino Ministry and representatives from Catholic Charities.

The Catholic School Office has been a member of the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for three years. Membership provides the opportunity to make the Archdiocese visible to the leaders of the Latino community. Gross Catholic is the second school to host the members of the NHCC.

Beatriz Arellanes, Coordinator of Latino School Enrollment for the Archdiocese of Omaha, stated, “By hosting this event, Gross Catholic offered the opportunity to allow the community to become more familiar with the school’s location, the environment and the great work Gross is doing educating students of all races and backgrounds, and to learn how this excellent education can impact and change the lives of many young Latino students in a very positive way.”
