(Site Selection Magazine) -- SiteSelection.com reports that Nebraska has successfully defended its claim to the "Governor's Cup" -- the magazine's award for total economic development projects per capita. Nebraska won the honor last year for 2016 projects, and again this year for 2017 projects. "Nebraska increased its project count from 101 to 110." It's the second Cup for per-capita activity for Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, and the state's third. Texas won again for total number of projects. Governor Pete Ricketts told Site Selection, "The main reason people want to invest in Nebraska is the people. ... We consistently have one of the highest workforce participation rates.  From personal experience, when you hire a Nebraskan you know he or she is well-educated and has a great work ethic. They are customer-focused and loyal -- they really want to work." The governor also praised the state's team approach to landing new businesses. Also, "Nebraska has strong ties to foreign markets."
