Soaring Wings Supports Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

On Friday, May 12, 2017, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will host the Grand Finale Gala with Live and Silent Auctions at the Embassy Suites, La Vista. This annual fundraising campaign raises funds for blood cancer research and patient services and SCCC member and Soaring Wings Vineyard and Brewing owner, Jim Shaw, is assisting in making this important night happen. In the letter blow, Jim shares his experiences and personal connection with this fundraising event:
My Friends,
I have been asked this year to assist in the Leukemia Foundations Annual Spring Fundraising campaign. We have been significant sponsor of the campaign for a number of years at Soaring Wings Vineyards and Brewing.
My personal reasons for doing this result from my grandfather passing away from the disease when I was young. Another reason is our Tasting Room Manager, Kellie Simpson, was diagnosed with the disease when she was only 5 years old. She has survived for over 20 years and she and her family are actively giving back to the foundation by raising funds for it. I am attaching her letter for you to read in detail.
Being a business owner I know we all get many requests each year to donate. I would ask that this year you consider this group, as they are one of the best. The easiest way would be to buy a table at the dinner. This would then allow you to enjoy a great dinner with the wine we are donating! Of course, there other methods of joining the cause and there is an info packet regarding that.
