    Job Summary

    The Information Security Engineer designs, implements, and enforces security policies that protect systems and data from access by unauthorized users and cyber-attacks. They create procedures for data access, protection, and backup. Investigates security violations and modifies procedures to prevent future incursions. The position reviews changes to information systems to ensure compliance with security standards.

    Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Works with the Manager of Cybersecurity to define security requirements, track security specific issues/concerns, provide security solutions, communicate identified vulnerabilities being introduced into the environment, and identify exceptions to policy
    • Assists in the development of enterprise-wide designs as well as researches and develops architectural policies and practices for current and future initiatives from definition phase through implementation with guidance from senior staff
    • Assists in the development and implementation of internal Security projects, including, writing requirements, providing input into the procurement process, initial installation and configuration
    • Researches, evaluates, and stays current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies
    • Work other bank personnel in an advisory and support role for matters related to IT security
    • Participate in multiple Information Security projects or department initiatives simultaneously
    • Install, configure and manage various security software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs
    • Constantly monitor an organization’s networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions. Install software that help to detect and notify of intrusions, and monitor systems for irregular system behavior.

    Experience Needed:

    • Minimum of 2 years of security experience including working knowledge and understanding of all security domain
    • Minimum of 5+ years of IT experience including server/desktop hardware, software, networking, or storage

    Education, Licensure & Certification Needed:

    • Bachelor degree is required
    • Industry Security Certification is desired

    Skills & Abilities Needed:

    • Ability to work with minimal guidance
    • High level knowledge of enterprise security architecture
    • Familiar with various regulations and policies related to information security for the financial industry
    • Ability to conduct ROI and gap analysis for potential and existing products
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interactions at all levels across the organization
    • Must be resourceful, creative, innovative, results driven, and adaptable
    • Solid problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to perform problem solving in a complex demanding environment by drawing on a pool of technical experience, business understanding and good judgment
