Black Hills Energy invests in Papillion industrial park

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nov. 1, 2018 — Black Hills Energy team members serving Omaha metro area natural gas customers will be relocating from their long-time location in a leased building on west 6th street in Papillion to a new building near 120th Street and Valley Ridge Drive in Papillion.
 
“In addition to providing an important service to our residents, Black Hills Energy is actively involved in our community,” said Papillion Mayor David Black. “We are excited that Black Hills Energy is making this significant investment here in Papillion and will continue to be part of our community for years to come.”
 
Construction on the new operations center will begin this fall and serve as a headquarters for the team members supporting the utility’s natural gas customers in the metro area.
 
“We’re committed to the metro area, and we’ve demonstrated that through our infrastructure investments supporting the growth of the area and community engagement,” said Don Nordell, senior manager of natural gas operations for Black Hills Energy in Papillion. “Building and owning a new facility will allow us to better serve our customers by providing additional space for materials and equipment to meet the needs of the growing area.”
 
The building will be 13,000 square feet and is expected to be complete in late 2019.
