A commitment to upgrading the physical campus to increase access and ease of use parallels the University's efforts to integrate the Skills to Performance learning model across the curriculum. Among the physical upgrades already in progress:

Establishing a perimeter road through campus to be ready for Fall 2016 which included
Modifying the entrance off Herman Drive
Reconstructing the road and parking lot in front of the Humanities and Durham Administration buildings
Changing five lecture classrooms in the Learning Center to collaborative learning spaces
Remodeling the Riley Technology Center for math and problem-based learning
Creating a new welcome area for traditional students in the Durham Administration Building
Mitigating noise from the air handlers on the ASB
Skills to Performance is defined as education designed to drive learning outcomes based on the performance expectations defined by industry while recognizing the varying skill levels of students and architecting paths for them to achieve success.

The Skills to Performance Initiative will focus on several areas:

Degree Programs — identifying the programs that will be available in the new technology and Skills to Performance Model.
Training — Introduce Faculty / Staff to a skills-to-performance model designed to meet and support student needs as they pursue their educational goals.
