    March 16, 2020
State of the Utility community meetings were originally scheduled the weeks of March 16 and March 23 in Douglas, Sarpy, Washington, Saunders and Nemaha counties. Due to recent developments regarding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), OPPD is adjusting outreach plans to reflect recommendations from infectious disease experts and will be moving from in-person meetings to putting all information online.

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding, as Omaha Public Power District is taking a cautious and thoughtful approach to COVID-19. As more people stay home, and in some cases work remotely, we are keenly aware of the importance of reliable electricity to power their lives now more than ever. Internally, we are taking steps to protect our employees so that they can continue to serve our customers when they need us most.

    • For the safety of customers, a video of the full presentation will be posted on OPPDListens by the end of March.
o At their convenience, customers will be able to view the presentation, provide feedback and ask questions.
    • The video presentation will include highlights of OPPD operations and future projects, including utility-scale solar and backup natural gas generation.
    • Per strategic directives, OPPD is committed to stakeholder outreach and meaningful ways for customers to provide feedback.
    • OPPD customers will be able to provide comment and ask questions via OPPDListens.
    • OPPD will continue to engage customers and stakeholders as we move forward with Power with Purpose and pathways to decarbonization.

OPPD is committed to four key things: maintaining reliable electric service to customers, protecting our customers, protecting our employees and continuing to engage with our customers regarding utility decisions. Our first priority is to maintain reliable service, which will entail some internal measures to ensure a healthy workforce to serve customers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your OPPD contact or you can submit feedback and questions at www.OPPDListens.com.  We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
