Radio Talking Book Service (RTBS) did not miss a beat when in mid-March our volunteers could no longer record or read live in our studios in Omaha. Instead, over 50 dedicated volunteers took to their i-phones, androids, tablets, laptops or PCs to record from their den, living room, kitchen or garage!
The Show(s) Go On! RTBS programming continued uninterrupted and the only change to our programming is the live newspaper readings of the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star are now recorded early each morning before being broadcast from 10am to noon 7-days-a-week. The Wall Street Journal is read M-F, ten regional newspapers from Scottsbluff to Council Bluffs are read weekly, regional department store and grocery store ads are read each week along with Health & Wellness, Home & Garden, cooking and pet shows and more.
If you know someone who is blind, visually-impaired or print-impaired who misses reading newspapers and magazines, please visit www.RTBS.org for more information.
