Microtel Inn and Suites Accommodates Guest by Offering 100% Smoke Free Rooms
(Bellevue, NE) – Tobacco Free Sarpy recognized Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham for their indoor smoke-free policy. A percentage of hotel rooms are exempt from the Nebraska Clean Indoor Air Law. Hotels are allowed to have up to 20% of their rooms as smoking rooms. Microtel Inn and Suites is going above and beyond by offering all rooms smoke-free.
"“The implementation of a Non-Smoking Policy was a good business decision. As more of the population stopped smoking, it became harder to accommodate our non-smoking guests when part of the hotel smelled like smoke,” said Gery Whalen, General Manager, “ We want all of our guests to feel comfortable in this hotel but it is impossible to contain the smell of indoor smoking. The extra time and expense to remove the smell of smoke in a guestroom could not be justified. We are very happy with our decision to make Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham/Bellevue, NE 100% non-smoking.”."
Tobacco Free Sarpy (TFS) recognizes Sarpy County businesses for their tobacco-free policies that go above and beyond the Nebraska Clean Indoor Air requirements. In addition, TFS works to keep youth from starting to use tobacco, reduce access to tobacco products, and increase awareness about the dangers of secondhand smoke in Sarpy County.
