Local Wireless Provider Completes Successful Pilot at Sandhills Global Event Center
January 19, 2026DM Wireless Connect, a Nebraska-based wireless connectivity provider, recently completed a successful pilot deployment at Sandhills Global Event Center during the January Home & Garden Show. The pilot was designed to evaluate real-world mobile data usage and network congestion during a high-attendance event.
The limited deployment focused on understanding how guests use their mobile devices during busy events and how targeted infrastructure can help relieve congestion without interfering with existing systems. Over the course of the event, the pilot supported hundreds of unique users per day and offloaded approximately 133 gigabytes of mobile data, with usage scaling naturally alongside event attendance.
Average data consumption remained consistent at roughly 100–120 megabytes per user, indicating normal, everyday device behavior such as browsing, messaging, and sharing photos. Traffic was evenly distributed across major carriers, demonstrating broad benefit and stable performance throughout the event window.
“We wanted to keep the pilot intentionally small and data-driven,” said Derrik Mather, owner of DM Wireless Connect. “The goal was to observe what actually happens during a live event and gather real metrics before discussing any broader rollout. The results validated the approach and showed meaningful impact even with limited coverage.”
DM Wireless Connect works with gyms, venues, and event spaces across the region to help reduce mobile congestion during peak usage periods. The company focuses on pilot-first deployments that allow organizations to test solutions in real environments before making long-term decisions.
Following the successful pilot, DM Wireless Connect will continue working with venue partners to evaluate additional use cases and future opportunities based on measured performance and operational needs.
