These community-voted awards recognize outstanding leadership, commitment, and contributions made by individuals, businesses, and organizations that have had a significant impact on the community. This year’s winners include a diverse group of innovators, philanthropists, and community leaders driving growth and positive change in our community.
Non-Profit of the Year: Moving Veterans Forward
Founded in 2010, Moving Veterans Forward has become a cornerstone of service in Sarpy County – helping homeless veterans transition into fully furnished homes through a volunteer-driven, community-supported model. Their work has restored stability and dignity for more than 4,500 veterans and families, reflecting the very best of Sarpy County’s commitment to those who once stood ready to protect us all.
Business Award 1-24 Employees: Papillion Orthodontics
Opened in 2019, Papillion Orthodontics is a local family and veteran-owned practice that has woven its mission of confidence and positivity into the fabric of Sarpy County through steady support of schools, youth programs, and local non-profits. Their ongoing partnerships and community presence reflect a deep commitment to helping local families thrive and feel supported.
Business of the Year 25+ Employees: ACCESSbank
Founded in 2007, ACCESSbank brings its mission to life in Sarpy County by uplifting community programs and empowering employees to spread kindness through its “Be Kind” initiative. Since opening in November 2023, Happy Buddhas has become a true community partner – supporting local schools and nonprofits, hiring local students, and honoring first responders and military families with discounted meals for recently transferred Airmen from Offutt Air Force Base. In under a year, they’ve earned top local dining awards that reflect their dedication to service and the spirit of Sarpy County hospitality.
Minority Owned Business of the Year: Kasa Du Bonbon
Kasa Du Bonbon has quickly become a beloved presence in Sarpy County by pairing delicious crepes and treats with a deep commitment to connection, generosity, and community spirit. Through their support of local fundraisers, schools, families, and nonprofits, they’ve shown how a small business can make a big difference, spreading joy with every cup of coffee and every crepe they serve.
Veteran Owned Business of the Year: Busy Bee Baking Company
Founded in 2020 by U.S. Air Force veteran Jodi Jefferson, Busy Bee Baking Company has grown from a home bakery into a powerful force for good in Sarpy County – donating 100% of proceeds from its annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale and raising more than $60,000 for local families in need. Through Jodi’s ongoing support for fellow veterans and her dedication to serving others, Busy Bee continues to prove that small businesses can make a big difference in our community.
Woman Owned Business of the Year: Lacey Brown State Farm Insurance
Lacey Brown State Farm Insurance demonstrates leadership in both business and community by helping families and small businesses across Sarpy County protect what matters most. Lacey fosters a culture of growth and service within her agency, blending professionalism with kindness and making a meaningful impact throughout the community.
Business Leader of the Year: Dr. Anthony Hatcher
Dr. Anthony Hatcher has profoundly impacted Sarpy County by expanding senior living communities, home care, and therapy services, creating hundreds of jobs and over $80 million in local economic development. Beyond his professional achievements, he champions healthcare partnerships, supports veterans, and contributes to national and local senior care initiatives, demonstrating exceptional leadership and community commitment.
Chamber Excellence Awards: Pinnacle Bank, Hillcrest Health & Living, Ivan Blair
The Chamber Excellence Award honors businesses and individuals for their unwavering commitment to the Sarpy Chamber and community.
- Pinnacle Bank has long supported the Sarpy Chamber through board service, hosting events and meetings, providing financial guidance, and actively participating in Chamber activities, and we are grateful for their ongoing partnership.
- Hillcrest Health & Living has generously provided food for our membership breakfasts and consistently hosts Chamber meetings and events at multiple locations. Their team actively engages in Chamber activities, supporting new members and the broader community throughout the year.
- Ivan Blair has been a welcoming force for the Sarpy Chamber, leading the Ambassador Group, consistently attending monthly events, and ensuring new members feel at home. Ivan’s volunteerism for the Chamber includes taking on key responsibilities for the Grand Giveaway, showing remarkable energy and support for the Chamber.
