Cook - Scratch Kitchen

Days: Monday-Sunday (5 days/varies)

Hours: 8a-5p or 3p-11p (varies)

Pay Rate: $15-$21 based on experience

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing all dishes and ingredients from fresh, raw materials rather than using pre-made or processed foods.
• Food preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and portioning proteins, vegetables, and other components according to recipes.
• Cooking and execution: Cook menu items using a variety of kitchen equipment and cooking methods, such as grilling, frying, sautéing, boiling, and baking.
• Recipe adherence: Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes and menu items.
• Plating and presentation: Garnish and plate food attractively, paying close attention to detail to ensure an appealing presentation.
• Station management: Set up, stock, and maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift, including during high-volume periods.
• Quality control: Ensure the freshness of ingredients, check food for taste and temperature, and monitor portion sizes.
• Sanitation: Follow all food handling procedures and safety regulations, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared on time and with high quality.
• Adaptability: Work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and often loud environment.

Qualifications and requirements

• Experience: Culinary background scratch kitchen experience
• Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds), and perform repetitive motions.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff.
• Attention to detail: Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in following recipes and maintaining quality.
• Serious and passionate
• Background Check (No Felonies)
