News Release: City of Gretna to Host Nebraska State Fair Puzzle Championship Qualifier at Puzzles & Pie Event

The City of Gretna is excited to announce that its annual Puzzles & Pie competition has been selected as an official qualifying event for the Nebraska State Fair Puzzle Championship.

The event will take place at Heavy Brewing and invites teams of four to compete in a timed puzzling challenge while enjoying food, drinks, and a fun, community-focused atmosphere.

During the competition, each team of 4 receives an identical 500-piece puzzle and has two hours to complete it. The fastest teams will earn prizes at the local event, with the top three teams qualifying to compete at the Nebraska State Fair Puzzle Championship later this summer. At the State Fair competition, teams will have the opportunity to compete for prize money and the title of Nebraska’s top puzzling team.

While the event attracts serious puzzlers, Puzzles & Pie is designed to be an enjoyable and welcoming experience for participants of all skill levels. Teams can enjoy the challenge of puzzling while socializing with friends, enjoying refreshments from Heavy Brewing, and taking part in a unique community event. As a bonus, all teams get to keep the puzzle they complete during the competition.

The City of Gretna is currently seeking local business sponsors and prize donors to help make the event even more successful. Sponsorships help cover event costs, including custom puzzles and prizes, while providing valuable brand exposure to engaged community members. Prize donations such as gift cards, group experiences, themed baskets, or merchandise are also welcomed.
