    Sarpy County Chamber Hosts Successful National Civics Bee Regional Competition

    Papillion, NE— The Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce hosted its first ever National Civics Bee Regional Competition on April 22 at Papillion Landing, welcoming 20 middle school finalists from across the region for an engaging and competitive event focused on civic knowledge and engagement.

    Students advanced through multiple rounds of competition, demonstrating their understanding of government, civic responsibility and community involvement. After two rounds of civic-based quiz questions and a final round of live Q&A with judges, the top three students were selected to advance to the State Competition in Lincoln on June 23, 2026.

    The top three finalists advancing to the State Competition are:

    • Savannah W., Beadle Middle
    • Xi L., Elkhorn Ridge Middle
    • Olivia V., King Science & Technology Middle

    “These students showcased an impressive level of knowledge and passion for civics,” said Karen Gibler, President of the Sarpy County Chamber. “It’s encouraging to see young leaders engaged in understanding how they can make an impact in their communities.”

    The National Civics Bee organized in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, aims to inspire middle school students to become better informed and more engaged citizens.
